The House System

Three Houses, one brotherhood — introduced in 1967 to foster teamwork and belonging.

Coogee Prep has three Houses, each representing a colour in the School crest. The House system was introduced in 1967, with each House named in honour of an individual who contributed to the early life of Coogee Prep.

Nimmo

Gold · Founder's Vision

Named after the founder and first Headmaster, Mr William Nimmo. He was a scholarly man with a great love for law and teaching. A man of great vision who saw the need to establish an independent preparatory school feeding into the large independent secondary schools.

McKeown

Black · Pastoral Heart

Named after Reverend Vernon McKeown, Minister of Randwick Presbyterian Church from 1949 to 1967. A friend of Mr Nimmo's, he was of Scottish heritage with a great love of rugby.

Storey

Blue · Patron's Grace

Named after Lady Ruby Storey, a close friend of Mr Nimmo and generous benefactor. She valued gentlemanly behaviour and had a great love of the creative and practical arts.
